4 part series for self reflection, empathic listening, and improved communication. Each session we'll gather for a meal together as we work through complex social issues.
Each SpeakEasy Seminar will teach communication skills, offer insight and information about relevant social issues that are often divisive topics, and allow participants time to practice the skills. Some of the discussions will be organic and some will be moderated but all will follow the SpeakEasy Project’s Community Standards for civil conversations.
Each Seminar focuses on one area of healing. Examples include identity, racism, colorism, sisterhood, and spirituality. And where does the healing come in? We design and guide the conversations to invoke healing self reflection and empathic listening. At the end of the Seminar, you will have resources to further your healing journey such as reading lists, websites, journal prompts and an invitation to the next Seminar.
The Seminars run as a 4 or 5 part series because of the expanded content. This allows the cadre:
- to get comfortable together
- to obtain information about the topic
- to explore the group’s lived experiences
- to have time to absorb new perspectives
Accordingly, it is important that each participant commit to attending all the sessions. Further information will be shared when you reserve your spot in the cadre.
